SaferTogether is a new digital application that is being trialled to support Singapore’s efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 through community-driven contact tracing. It is currently only available for use by Singapore residents with a valid NRIC. Support for long-term pass holders is coming soon.
SaferTogether uses Location and Bluetooth to determine if you had possible exposure to COVID-19 — through close contact with other SaferTogether users or visits to suspected hotspots. If this happens, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will contact you to provide care and guidance.
Your Location and Bluetooth data is encrypted and stored only on your phone. MOH will seek your consent to upload the data, if it is needed for contact tracing.
In addition, if MOH needs your help with contact tracing, SaferTogether helps you recall where you were and who you were with.
SaferTogether helps us protect our loved ones and families so that we do not spread the virus to them unknowingly. It also helps us support the work of contact tracers and healthcare workers by combating the spread of COVID-19 together.
SaferTogether data is deleted after 21 days, and app functionality will cease after the outbreak ends.
